MISSION STATEMENT

Koleinu: Inclusive Observant Jews of Fair Lawn (IOJFL) is a Jewish social organization for residents of the broader Fair Lawn Jewish community.  Most of our members maintain membership in various Modern Orthodox synagogues within Fair Lawn.

We seek to supplement the existing landscape of Jewish programming with additional progressive and inclusive events.  We offer social, educational, and communal programming meeting the specific needs of our members.

Our primary goals include encouraging and nurturing a progressive and inclusive community by offering social, educational, and enrichment activities. We promote the inclusion of women’s leadership and participation in communal Jewish spaces, openly welcome members and allies of diverse groups within the Jewish community (such as LGBTQIA+ and Jews of Color), and engage with the larger Fair Lawn Jewish community and greater Fair Lawn community.
